Whenever there is a match or a series between India and Australia, it would be an interesting and serious fight between them with verbal spats, sledging and even arguments between the players. Veteran Indian player Harbhajan Singh has had an intense rivalry with Australia in the past. He always would be in the mood of not giving up.

Currently, as the Australian team is playing a limited-overs series with India and lost the ODI series 3-0 in 5-match series, the Turbanator took a jibe at the struggling Aussies. He also appealed former Australian cricketer Michael Clarke to return to top-flight cricket, commenting that Australia has stopped producing top batsmen.

Clarke retired post-Ashes 2015 from Test cricket, a few months after guiding Australia to their fifth World Cup win. Since then, Clarke has found a new vocation in cricket commentary and is currently in India busy working in the ongoing five-match series.

On Sunday, Australia produced yet another lame example of batting despite getting off to a stunning start. All this was enough for Harbhajan to take a swipe at Australia, who appealed to Clarke to pick up the bat and come to his team’s rescue.

“Mate u need to come out of your retirement and start playing again I think. An era of Aussies producing top batsmen is over I feel.No quality,” (sic) Harbhajan said.

However, on Monday, Michael Clarke responded to Bhajji after India took an unassailable 3-0 lead over Australia in 5-match ODI series.

The former Australian captain replied saying that the Aussies have some work to do. “I have only just seen this buddy. These old legs of mine are enjoying the air-conditioned commentary box. Aussies have some work to do!” tweeted Clarke.

David Warner, Aaron Finch, and Steve Smith struck rapid-fire knocks of 42, 124 and 63 respectively on Sunday to post a total of 293 runs at a loss of six wickets. In response, Indian openers Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma powered the men in blue to a steady start, forging a 139-run partnership before getting dismissed in quick succession.

The young all-rounder Hardik Pandya did justice by adding 56-run with captain Virat Kohli and a 78-run stand with Manish Pandey as India recorded a five-wicket win, sealing the series. The defeat to India on Sunday at the Holkar Stadium in Indore was Australia’s 11th in last 13 matches overseas, two of which were washed out.

The win in Indore also propelled India to the World No.1 ICC ODI team ranking, dethroning South Africa. India now holds top ranking in both ODI and Tests format.
