Harbhajan Singh’s Dig At GST Left Twitter In Splits And Received Huge Support
Whenever there is a match or a series between India and Australia, it would be an interesting and serious fight between them with verbal spats, sledging and even arguments between the players. Veteran Indian player Harbhajan Singh has had an intense rivalry with Australia in the past. He always would be in the mood of not giving up.
Currently, as the Australian team is playing a limited-overs series with India and lost the ODI series 3-1 in 5-match series and one yet to go. Coming to the off-spinner, he is known for his anger and sense of humor. The bowler proved again that he is the best in the business of creating news and going viral.
This time, he is in the news not for taking a dig at opposition or exhibiting his witty nature, but regarding Goods and Service Tax (GST). Yes, you read it right. Recently, Harbhajan went out for dinner and his post-dinner tweet has now become viral.
Spreading like a wildfire, Bhajji’s tweet has now been retweeted more than 13,000 times and has more than 33,000 likes. In his post-dinner tweet, the Indian off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh took a clever dig on GST imposed by the central government.
Removing all the other taxes, the ruling government implemented GST on different products and services. The rule became mandatory from 1 July 2017. Implementation of the Goods and Services Taxes has led to higher taxes in certain sectors, and restaurant bills are really pinching patrons. Looks like Harbhajan is also not really happy with the GST rules.
Harbhajan tweeted, “While making payment of bill after dinner in a restaurant, it feels like state govt & central govt both had a dinner with us…”
