India Qualifies For Semi-Finals Of Cricket World Cup And Virat Kohli Says Rohit Sharma Is The Best “One-Day Player”

Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma played a huge role during the India vs Bangladesh match in the Cricket World Cup on Tuesday that was held at the Edgbaston Arena in Birmingham. India won the March by 28 runs and has secured a spot in the Semi-Finals of the World Cup.

After winning the match, Virat Kohli had nothing but praises for Rohit Sharma, who scored a century.

Kohli said, “I have been watching it for years now. He’s the best One-day player around and we are so delighted to see him. When he plays like that, everybody is happy to see him strike this so well.”

Rohit Sharma scored his fourth century in the Cricket World Cup 2019.

Kohli also talked about their match against Bangladesh.

Kohli said, “I mean Bangladesh has played some really good cricket in the tournament. They deserve a lot of credit for the fight they put up, even till the last wicket I think they were in the game.”

India lost to England at the same arena, the lost led the team to make 2 changes in their first XI.

The team decided to go with 4 bowlers and add Hardik Pandya in their line-up.

Virat Kohli explained their changes after the match against Bangladesh, he said, “I know five bowlers was a gamble, but it was keeping in mind the ground dimensions. We wanted to play the perfect combination for the small boundary”.

Kohli also praised Jasprit Bumrah during the interview and called him the “number 1 bowler” of the team at the moment.

Kohli said, “Bumrah’s overs were always going to be crucial, you can bank on him. He’s the number 1 bowler at the moment and he can execute his plans.”

Bumrah ended the match with 4/55 in 10 overs.

India will play Sri Lanka in their final match in the opening round of the tournament on July 6, 2019. India is expected to end the opening round at the number one or number two spot of the World Cup Table.

Australia is currently on the top of the table with 14 points, India is at the second spot with 13 points, New Zealand is currently at the third place with 11 points, and England, the host of the World Cup, is currently at the fourth place with 10 points.
