India vs Bangladesh: Bangladesh Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim Took A Blunder DRS Call Left Everyone Laughing

It was the home team that won the toss and decided to bat first. Without any surprise, Ajinkya Rahane replaced Karun Nair in the squad with skipper Virat Kohli going with five bowlers. India reached 206 for two at tea on the first day of the one-off Test against Bangladesh, who had their backs to the wall on their maiden visit to India.

After the successful use of Decision Review System (DRS) in the five-Test home series against England, the use of technology became vogue in the one-off Test between India and Bangladesh. It was also used for the first time in a bilateral ODI series in India in the three-match series.

DRS:

It seems Bangladesh skipper is not using DRS in an effective way. In the 3rd over of the match, Bangladesh came close to taking DRS but eventually didn’t. An absolute poor review from Bangladesh as they go up for an LBW appeal against Kohli when he has hit it off the middle of the bat.

Wonder why they went for the review in the first place when the bowler would have clearly seen it strike the middle of the bat and no pad involved to waste one DRS review.

Kohli plays the sweep but mishits for a single fine on the leg side. Vijay looks to swing it high but fails to make the proper connection yet he gets it in the gap as it goes through midwicket for a four and then keeps strike with a single from the last ball. Even the commentators are surprised after Bangladesh skipper opting for a DRS.

Update: HUNDRED for VIRAT KOHLI. He is just playing on another planet. He has done this effortlessly. 100 Off just 130 balls out of which only 40 runs came in boundaries.

It’s not the first time, wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim thought to have gotten Cheteshwar Pujara caught behind when he was batting on zero. Mushfiqur seemed to have thought of taking a DRS and discussed the same with his team before opting to not take it.

The replays showed that the ball was quite far from Pujara’s bat and seeing the same. The Bangladesh Skipper seems to be over-excited about playing a debut test with the Indian team. Some twitter users called this DRS as a waste of time and blaming Bangladesh for doing so.
