Great News For Indian Cricket Fans: India To Play With Pakistan In Emerging Cup In Bangladesh

In India, Cricket is the religion that Gods from other religions fight over. It is an eye feast for Indian cricket fans especially when the team is playing with Pakistan. India have not played Pakistan in a bilateral series since the Pakistan tour in 2013 due to the security reasons between the two countries.

The last time India and Pakistan played each other was in the World T20 where India beat Pakistan in Kolkata. Now the great news is India and Pakistan are all set to face each other in Cox’s Bazaar in Bangladesh ahead of the much-awaited clash in Champions Trophy in England.

The two teams would feature in the Emerging Cup, which has an interesting format. It’s a tournament essentially for U-23 players but four teams. In an U-23 tournament, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka would be allowed to feature four national players.

Teams from 8 countries will participate in the Emerging Cup between March 15-26 which will be held in Bangladesh. It has been announced that the Indian and the Pakistani teams will play against each other in Bangladesh

It would be an ODI tournament authorized by the Asian Cricket Committee and would be held between March 15 to 26. “Yes, India would be sending a team to the tournament. It’s an ACC tournament and so we would go there. This is not a bilateral India-Pakistan series, and so this is different,” MV Sridhar said.

The Emerging Cup only allowed players below the age of 23 to play in the tournament however the rules have been modified a little this time around. Now, at least 4 national players above the age of 23 can play in a team. This tournament would be the perfect opportunity for upcoming youngsters to showcase their talent on the big stage and send a message to the selectors by making a mark for themselves.

India and Pakistan will also play against each other during the ICC Champions Trophy in England on June 04, 2017 in Birmingham.
