Indian Skipper Got Out Early And Twitterati Started Trolling Anushka Sharma
The much-awaited India vs South Africa Test series kicked off at Newlands, Cape Town with a brilliant start by the visiting Pacers. After winning the toss, du Plessis decided to bat first and it seemed like the decision of the captain was wrong as the hosts had a disastrous start at Bhuvaneshwar Kumar ripped through the top order Elgar and Markham and Hashim Amla.
The score was reduced to 12/3 in just half an hour of play. Then, ABD and du Plessis built a much-needed partnership and stitched 114 runs. However, South Africa staged a brilliant recovery to post 286 in their first innings. Soon, the Indian innings followed but in vain. One of the world’s greatest pacers Dale Steyn, Rabada, Philander, and Morkel went on expected lines.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli is playing his first match after wedding Anushka Sharma last month. Despite being in good form, this match must have been a different experience for Virat as he had his wife cheering for him in the stands. Anushka Sharma has been the biggest support for Kohi since a few years now.
Along with Anushka, even Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rohit Sharma’s wives Ayesha, Nupur and Ritika were there to cheer them up. After South Africa got all out at 286 in the first innings, India, in turn, lost 3 quick wickets of Murali Vijay, Dhawan & Kohli. The three batsmen were in good form and things didn’t go well with them against South Africa’s bowling attack.

However, everyone was sad to see Kohli getting out on 5 runs. Usually, he’s the one who treats us by scoring centuries but guess he couldn’t live up to the expectations of fans this time.
Soon, Twitterati started trolling him and his wife Anushka Sharma. Some felt that he’s still in the honeymoon period.
Twitter Reactions:
Ye to hona hi tha! Kohli out on 5 (13). Honeymoon nd cricket can’t go together. Cricket is a serious game nd SA series will be litmus test for team india. pic.twitter.com/lH62IMGr8W

Slamming a player when he fails is one thing, but going after a loved one or family member is just not on.
This has happened before. When India lost in the 2015 World Cup semifinal, many people blamed Anushka for being a distraction. By that logic, she must be given credit when he does play well, but that is never the case. Many might argue that it is just in good humor and should not be taken seriously, but the truth is, this is indeed serious.
Virat has not commented on the issue till now, but if things get out of hand, don’t expect him to hold back.
Of the 12 wickets that fell on day-1, the speedsters took 10. Though the South Africans didn’t get to bowl many overs, it was Bhuvneshwar Kumar who stood out for his incisiveness. After Bhuvneshwar’s magic with the new ball (4/87) limited South Africa to 286, the cherry changed hands and so did the control of the game.
Finally, at the end of day-1, India were 28/3 trailing by 258 runs.
