Indian Twitteratis Are Making Fun Of ‘EMPTY’ Stadiums In Pakistan Super League (PSL) Matches

No doubt, the cricket rivalry between India and Pakistan is one of the biggest in the sporting world. It becomes the battle of nerves as well as pride whenever these two arch-rivals lock horns against each other on the cricket field.

We all know that Pakistan Super League (PSL) kicked off on February 22 and the opening ceremony was filled with immense glitz and glamour, it was trending on the internet. Since then, the fans have been witnessing some breathtaking on-field action. But when it comes to the crowd in the stadium, it’s completely unbelievable.

PSL

Despite the management pulling in some renowned names from the world of cricket, the stadiums continue to be empty. On-field rivalry aside, there seems to be a light-hearted banter session going on between the cricket fans of both sides on social media.

While the Indian Premier League (IPL) is famous for the stadium atmosphere that is created during matches, the fame has come to PSL as well, but for the wrong reasons. While comparisons with the IPL have been ever-present since the start of its equivalent in Pakistan, the biggest positive with IPL is its ability to have fans in attendance on a regular basis.

PSL empty stadium

While the Pakistani fans often troll the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) for not allowing their players to feature in it, nowadays the Indian cricket fans are returning the favor by making fun of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) as the tournament is not being able to draw enough spectators in the stadium.

It’s been almost a week since the third edition of PSL has started in Dubai, but the empty stands aren’t helping the event to produce electrifying atmosphere. The empty stadiums in PSL have now been converted into hilarious memes, with fans not at their creative best in roasting the franchise-based cricket league on Twitter.

Twitter Reactions:

Much has been talked about the PSL’s aspirations of reaching a wider audience base and even having a longer tournament, but the in-stadia crowd will play an important role in all developmental aspects.
