Australia started the second day of the third Test in Ranchi on 299/4, seeking to continue their good work of the first day. Captain Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell resumed their partnership of 159. After losing wickets in quick succession, Australia came back well with a fifty-run stand between Steve Smith and Steve O’Keefe before Umesh Yadav got rid of O’Keefe.

Ravindra Jadeja for India was again brilliant with the ball in hand. Picked up his eighth five-for that helped the hosts restrict the visitors to a score of 451.

This doesn’t happen naturally when you target stumps from your back you have very minimal chance of hitting stumps.
