Jasprit Bumrah Helps Mumbai Indians In Clinching The Match From Gujarat Lions In The Historical Super-over

Post many interesting things, here’s an another wonder that took place in this IPL season. This season witnessed its first Super Over in which Mumbai Indians ended up winning against Gujarat Lions. As far as considered, it was the seventh Super Over in IPL history. Here, both the teams ended their allotted 20 overs at the score of 153 at the SCA Stadium in Rajkot. Defending a low total, Gujarat Lions fielded exceptionally well on the field.

It was all 23-Year-Old Jasprit Bumrah’s show, this young player, however, has a bad beginning by throwing a no ball followed by a wide ball. The defending score is however 11 runs, Bumrah managed to limit the hits cross bowling in a fine attire to Finch and McCullum. It is well known that not many would bet against batsmen like Finch and McCullum not being able to get the remaining eight runs off five balls, but all the youngster gave away was only a mere 3 runs with (0,1,0,1,1).

Bumrah successfully clinched the match for the Mumbai Indians from the jaws of defeat.

It can be undoubtedly said that Bumrah is one of the deadliest limited bowler bowlers the Cricket has and when asked about his practice he said that he fine-tunes his yorkers during “specific death bowling sessions” during the pre-match.

He added, “I don’t practice like how Malinga does it by keeping a shoe (which the Lankan ace then tries to hit with his toe-crushers’). I practice with him on how to bowl the yorker consistently, but I always have a death bowling session whenever I practice as it’s important, because this is the time I bowl for Gujarat in domestic matches, for India, and for MI. So constantly whenever I practice, I have a proper death bowling session.”

Post the match, Gujarat Lions’ skipper Suresh Raina said “Bumrah bowled a very good over. With that reverse swing and accuracy, you can’t do much.”

And Bumrah kept the faith MI skipper Rohit Sharma had in him, this might be the best birthday gift he can present to Rohit on his 30th birthday, yesterday.

“This was the first time I was bowling a super over. There’s always pressure because only they needed only 11 runs. However, at that time, I tried to keep a calm head, not focus on the negative things, but positives aspects, thinking about the plans I made” concluded Bumrah, who ironically plays for Gujarat in Ranji trophy.
