[WATCH VIDEO] KL Rahul And Cheteshwar Pujara Repeat Jadeja-Pandya Run-Out In Ongoing 2nd Test Against Sri Lanka

India’s classy opener KL Rahul made a comeback to the International Cricket after missing out on a few Tests in the grand home season 2016-17. He was out of ICC Champions Trophy and also the first Test of the ongoing 3-match series against Sri Lanka. Finally, he opened for India after recovering from shoulder injury.

Though team India lost the first wicket in the form of Shikhar Dhawan, Pujara and Rahul display absolute composure at the pitch maintaining run rate above four. KL Rahul is known as one of the most technically correct batsmen in India and fans and pundits also rate him very high.

Pujara and Rahul continue it slow with the former inching closer to 4000 Test runs, while the later closer to his first Test fifty since return. He took his time to get used to the nature of the pitch and looked very elegant in the middle. KL Rahul notches up his comeback fifty, his eighth Test fifty in total as India cross the 100-run mark before lunch.

Looked cool and composed, Rahul departs for 57 as a mash-up between him and Pujara led him to run out. Rahul walked back, venting out his frustration. Was it Pujara’s fault? Rahul did call for the run and Pujara replied, but then denied to sprint further as Chandimal capitalized on the confusion to dismiss the opener.

Rahul angry

KL Rahul was very disappointed while walking back to the middle. He also signaled to Pujara that it was his call. This run-out reminded us of the infamous misunderstanding between Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya in the final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

Rahul’s reaction was very similar to what Pandya gave in that match. Rahul was batting well and looking set for a big score, which he badly needed because he hasn’t been able to convert his fifties into hundreds of late, but the unfortunate run-out resulted in his dismissal.
