The eleven players on the field might be in the minds of every cricket buff, they might grab huge attention when the game is on and even more when the match is in between India and Australia or India vs Pakistan. But what matters most and what shows huge impact is the kind of coach TeamIndia has. The edges up to which the coach can bring his National team when the match is very important or the rivals are quite tough.

Earlier in between April and June 2016, there was a cold war in between former popular Indian cricketers. The veteran players then competed for the seat of Team India’s head coach. Though many legendaries like Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar, and others applied, the position was granted to the former ace bowler Anil Kumble.

It has been almost a year for this Kannada bowler to lead the team from the backend. Now according to the sources, it appears like Kumble might leave his seat to take over the role of Director of the team, which is more prominent and crucial.  Earlier, the likes of Sandeep Patil and Dav Whatmore had applied for the job. The list was later chopped down to 21 shortlisted candidates.

And when the list came down to last six members. Kumble, Ravi Shastri, Praveen Amre, Lalchand Rajput, Tom Moody and Stuart Law’s names are included, and in the final stage, the BCCI had to pick one from Ravi Shastri and Anil Kumble. They opted to go with Anil Kumble.

However, it mus be believed that the team has performed pretty well under the supervision of Kumble, the amusing statistics in the Test cricket where India has played 13 Tests and lost just one indicates everything. Post this, the news is out now and the BCCI has once again released the notification for the Team India’s new head coach. In addition to this, a tweet from Wisden India confirmed the same.

Meanwhile, this time, the veteran players like Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, and Sourav Ganguly will be selecting the candidate. It also mentioned the direct entry of Anil Kumble in the list.
