Neymar Handed A 3 Match Ban For Instagram Post Criticizing Match Officials For Using VAR

Neymar, a striker, and winger for the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) have been banned for 3 matches in European Competition for a post that he made on Instagram that criticized the match Officials during their loss to Manchester United in March, the ban was given by UEFA.

Neymar will miss the first 3 games of the Champions League opening stage next year.

The striker was angered after a penalty was given to Manchester United by using the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) system.

Damir Skomina, the referee of that game concluded with the help of the VAR that Presnel Kimpembe, a defender handled a shot from Diogo Dalot.

Rashford scored the penalty and PSG was out of the Champions League.

Neymar did not play during that game because of an injury, but the striker was present and watched the game at the Parc des Princes.

In a post on Instagram, Neymar said, “This is a disgrace, they put four people who know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR.  It’s just not possible!!! How is a guy going to hold his hand behind his back” he asked, referring to how Kimpembe jumped as he tried to block Dalot’s shot. “Go f**k yourselves.”

Neymar is currently the most expensive striker and footballer in the world, he suffered a metatarsal injury recently which caused him to miss a number of games.

Also, PSG has qualified for the group stage of the Champions League season next year after winning their 2nd consecutive French title last week.
