Only This Person Can Reduce The Ban Period For Steve Smith And David Warner! Check Out To Know Who He Is!!

Australian star cricketers, Steve Smith and David Warner along with the bowler Cameron Bancroft planned ball-tampering to win a game against South Africa in Cape Town. Cameron hid a sandpaper in his trouser pocket to scuff the ball for a reverse swing which is considered as a malpractice in the game of cricket. It is being heard that Smith and Warner came up with this plan during the lunch break and included junior player Bancroft in their dirty game.

Cricket Australia levied a ban of 1year on both Steve Smith and David Warner from playing both domestic as well as international cricket and a ban of 9months on Bancroft as he was just a pawn in this scandal. Warner who was the vice-captain of the Aussie team can never become the captain of the team in his lifetime while Smith can resume his captaincy after completion of the ban period.

But is there anyone who could reduce the ban period levied on them? The answer is yes!!

As per Cricket Australia’s law, the players involved in the scandal can appeal against the decision taken by them to an independent commissioner. But the appeal to revert the decision taken by Cricket Australia shall be made in a week and only then the commissioner will be decided. The commissioner, if satisfied with the player’s plea, can reduce the ban time.

Any player banned by Cricket Australia can do the same. Apart from this they can also hire a lawyer for themselves and call as many witnesses as they want. But the scope of the appeal will be quite low as the players are already found guilty of the charges and hence they no longer can prove themselves innocent.

All of three of them are currently considering the merits of appealing against CA’s decision and deadline to appeal is Thursday.

However, Ball Tampering is not considered a big crime in the world of cricket as it is just a matter of code and conduct of the game. We are assuming that the independent commissioner may reduce their ban sentence to a reasonable time. Right now all we can do is to wait and see what will happen next to the players.
