Philadelphia 76ers Sign Al Horford To 4-Year $109 Million Deal After Jimmy Butler Goes To The Miami Heat

After Jimmy Butler got acquired by the Miami Heat in a sign-and-trade deal, the Philadelphia 76ers sign Al Horfrod from the Boston Celtics to a 4-year $109 Million USD deal. Jason Glushon, the agent of Al Horfrod, confirmed the news to Adrian Wojnarwoski.

Earlier this month, Al declined his player option, which was worth $30.1 million, to remain with the Boston Celtics for the remainder of the 2019 to 2020 season.

The new deal of the 33-year-old power forward will allow him to earn $97 Million USD in guaranteed salary and an additional $12 Million USD in bonuses if the Philadelphia 76ers Win the NBA Title.

Reports suggest that the Boston Celtics offered Al Horford a 4-year deal, but it was declined after it guaranteed less money.

Horford played for 3 seasons with the Boston Celtics, throughout the 3 seasons, the power forward averaged 13.5 points, 7 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game.

The 76ers re-signed Harris and added Tobias Harris after they lost Jimmy Butler.

The Sixers have also acquired Josh Richardson from the Miami Heat, he averaged 16.6 points per game last season with the Heat. Richardson is a 2015 second-round pick.
