[WATCH VIDEO] Rashid Latif Takes U-Turn! Praises Team India And Calls Virender Sehwag A Great Player

A few days ago, we had seen Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag made comments against Pakistan and Bangladesh during the ICC Champions Trophy before the first fixture between India and Pakistan.

Former Pakistan Cricketer Rashid Latif got furious against Sehwag’s comments and made a video in which he took a dig at the dashing opener and disgracefully criticized him. However, the video went viral on social media and slammed the former Pakistani for making comments in the video.

Sehwag kept calm and sent a soothing reply to Latif by writing “A meaningful silence is always better than meaningless words.” Later, discarded Indian batsman Manoj Tiwary jumped into the spat and slammed the Pakistani veteran for his ‘shameful act‘.

Now, the situation seems to calm down between Rashid Latif and Virender Sehwag and the war of words took a different turn as the former Pakistan captain heaped praise on the Indian batting icon’s career. Rashid Latif has taken a sudden switch in his perception of the former Indian opener.

He posted a 5-minute video backing the Indian team to reach the final of the Champions Trophy, the 48-year old labeled Virat Kohli as the best batsman in the world. With his assessment going wrong, the erstwhile wicket-keeper batsman changed his tune and congratulated the Indian team for their performance.

In the video, Rashid said, “I wanted to warn Sehwag a lesson after his comments on Pakistan. We should respect each other. Sehwag was a great player who scored two triple centuries. But he must understand he should not disrespect a country. I am not talking only about Pakistan but he should not disrespect teams like Sri Lanka or Bangladesh.”

He added, “I would like to congratulate India. They have a good chance of making it into the finals. Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world. Anil Kumble has played against me. He is a very honest person. Also, the others who have played against me or I have heard about them are Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Ajay Jadeja, Mohammad Azharuddin, Javagal Srinath, Krishnamachari Srikkanth. I would like to congratulate them all.”

“If you make such comments, then the things are not restricted only to cricket. It crosses the limits. So I would like you to keep a check of your words and I will also keep a check on my words,” Latif concluded.
