New Zealand star batsman Ross Taylor played a big role by scoring 95 runs in New Zealand’s 6 wicket win over India in the 1st ODI at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Taylor has a lot of experience of playing in India and he made full use of that while countering India’s young spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.
Chasing a hefty total of 281 at Wankhede, the visitors were struggling at 80/3 and everyone thought they would capitulate in front of the wrist spinners much like the Aussies did. But the duo of Tom Latham and Taylor came to the fore and stitched a record partnership of 200 runs.
Former India captain Virender Sehwag, whose funny Twitter posts keep his fans entertained a lot. This time too, he didn’t let the opportunity go to waste and tried mocking Ross Taylor for his innings. He tweeted “Well played @RossLTaylor Darji Ji. Great effort after handling the pressure of Diwali orders .”

To which, Ross Taylor replied in an even funny way, that too in Hindi. Taylor wrote: “Thanks, @virendersehwag Bhai agli Baar Apna order time pe Bhej Dena so Mai Apko agli Diwali Ke Pehle deliver kardunga ….happy Diwali.”

Ross Taylor posed Sehwag with an interesting question. On Friday, Taylor, who became a target of Sehwag’s funny tweets, asked Sehwag “how else my name can be spelled” after his name was misspelled ‘Taler’. Taylor took to Instagram to seek out Sehwag’s help. He wrote,
“Tenpin bowling #Kanpur styles. Started by Taylor, then I was ‘Darji’ which in Hindi means ‘Tailor’… now I am Taler wonder how else my name can be spelled. Any ideas? #Taylor #Darji #Taler #India @virendersehwag”.
