Someone Said Indian Sensation Smriti Mandhana Is The Female Version Of Sehwag On Twitter, Here’s His Take On This Tweet
With the continuing victories against England and West Indies, Indian women’s cricket team has been doing its best from the past couple of weeks. It was skipper Mithali Raj and Smriti Mandhana’s show all the way. Both the players have been playing some incredible innings in an effort to clinch major victories.
After the successful seven consecutive fifties, Mithali Raj already grabbed the attention of the country, and now it is 20-Year-Old Smriti Mandhana’s turn, she gracefully bagged a century next to a stunning 90, while the former was against West Indies, the latter was against England, both are absolutely tough teams.
This young Mumbaikar has already proved herself in the ongoing ICC World Cup, more is yet to come, and Twitter can’t stop praising her. With the advent of Mithali and Smriti, it looks like both media and social networks have gained enough interest to encourage the Indian team, thanks to them.
Now that her massive 102 has come to limelight, many Indian cricketers went on congratulating her for the same. People on Twitter already started drawing comparisons, someone compared her with former Indian team opener Virender Sehwag, as she is also the opener who often bags maximum runs. He went tweeting “She is the first version of Smriti and is really special. Every Indian who loves sports will be proud of her. Wish her and the team the best.”

Meanwhile, Viru Paaji didn’t leave any stone unturned in giving a befitting reply, he might have thought that it is not good to shadow the player’s real identity by comparing them with others, Viru went saying that Smriti is first of her kind and the whole country is proud of her.

However, putting aside this Twitter thread, one thing is sure, Smriti, absolutely young and an ace player has come into the world of cricket inspired from her brother and father who had played professional cricket at the district level. When asked about her truest cause of inspiration, she says that it was her brother who represented Maharashtra Under-16 side.
Post her brother’s debut in the Under-16 match, she started taking professionally training, the left-hander represented Maharashtra Under-15 side at the age of 9 and was roped into the Under-19 side at a mere age of 11. She is now the first ever Indian woman to score a double-ton in a One-day game. She scored an unbeaten 224 off 150 balls in the West Zone Under-19 Tournament, at the Alembic Cricket Ground in Vadodara.
Subsequently, at a mere 16 years, she bagged a place in Indian women’s senior side and the rest, as they say, is history, and more yet to come.
