Twitter Hails Shikhar Dhawan, Pujara And Trolls Virat Kohli, Abhinav Mukund For Poor Batting

In the ongoing Test match between India and Sri Lanka at Galle, the hosts suffered a huge blow on very first day of the match as their middle-order batsman Asela Gunaratne was ruled out of the game with a fractured left thumb.

Aside, India’s opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan struck a brilliant century with the help of Chestheswar Pujara. Both the batsmen stirred Sri Lankan bowlers to score centuries and put on 253-run partnership respectively.

Dhawan century vs Sri Lanka

Dhawan opened the innings with Abhinav Mukund (12) and the two batsmen didn’t have enough partnership. Captain Kohli became the third man to fall to Nuwan Pradeep. Kohli was initially given not out but Herath decided to review the decision. Replays show a splinter of wood flying off the bat, a clear sign of a nick. The decision is reversed and Kohli walked to the pavilion.

Pujara and Rahane are negating the new ball quite well and defensively both the looking very solid. The duo is batting beautifully out there and keeping the scoreboard ticking as India edge closer to the 400 run mark in the first day of the Test.

Pujara century vs Sri Lanka
