Usman Khawaja Tweeted About His Four Months Stay In India Without Playing A Game, Twitterati Trolls Him After His Funny Tweet
Despite reaching final with the heroics of Rahul Tripathi, Ben Stokes, MS Dhoni, Steve Smith and Jaydev Unadkat, Rising Pune Supergiant had a very disappointing final against Mumbai Indians yesterday. They ended up on the losing side in the last ball thriller.
Each and every fan of IPL had thought of MS Dhoni playing team RPS would win the match and clinch their first and last ever IPL title. But they had disappointed all the fans and also players after the defeat. Everyone took to Twitter to express their feelings and views regarding Pune’s lose.
One such player from the RPS camp who expressed his disappointment was Australian batsman Usman Khawaja. He took to Twitter to share his feeling about losing the final to Mumbai Indians. Khawaja’s tweet didn’t look a usual imperative statement, rather it took a cheeky dig that would well be seen as a self-trolled one.
Here’s Khawaja’s tweet:
Had a great time in India for the last 4 months! Sad way 2 finish the IPL but had a great time @punesupergiants. #highqualityh2o #india #ipl pic.twitter.com/k3WONThYvU

Throughout the season of the IPL, the Australian opening batsman didn’t play even a single match but was seen warming the benches. He was not made to playing XI and was remained to the bench in the tournament. Well, the reason remains unknown as it was the team management that did not see Khawaja fit the bill for the side.
After English all-rounder Ben Stokes had made an exit after the league stages, many speculated that Khawaja could get an opportunity as a replacement to Stokes. But, RPS had a very settled opening pair in Rahane and Tripathi. Coming to number 3, Smith and Dhoni followed the list. Thus, it was needless to say there was a place for Khawaja to bat in the top order.
Interestingly, Khawaja was not only warming the bench in the IPL, but he was also a part of Australian team who came to play four tests against India where he was there fixed to the bench. Hence, Usman had a 4-month long stay in India. Sadly for him, he was not given a look during this period.
Twitterati couldn’t stop laughing at Khawaja and started trolling him:

Must have been a little disappointing to not play in a single match across your four month stay in India but like watching you bat.
