After The Spat, Team India Skipper Virat Kohli Deletes ‘Welcome’ Tweet For Anil Kumble
Anil Kumble stepped down from his position as the head coach of the Indian cricket team after his relationship with the current captain became ‘untenable’. With the Virat Kohli-Anil Kumble tale rolling into India’s tour of West Indies, the India captain has deleted the ‘Welcome Tweet’ for Anil Kumble of 2016.
In the tweet that was posted on June 23, 2016, Kohli had greeted Kumble with a smiley and expressed hopes of a great future under the guidance of the legendary spinner.
Anil Kumble was appointed as the head coach of the Indian cricket team in June 2016. He was welcomed by the then Test captain Virat Kohli.
The tweet read, “Heartiest welcome to @anilkumble1074 Sir. Look forward to your tenure with us. Great things in store for Indian Cricket with you” Kohli had posted on his official Twitter account on June 23, 2016.
Soon after Anil Kumble stated that “the captain had reservations with my style and about my continuing as the coach,” Kohli deleted his welcome tweet for Kumble tweeted one year back.
Kumble had thanked his own tweet, thanking Kohli for his wishes.
Thanks @imVkohli looking forward to working with you and team India https://t.co/X39qp7WDKj

During the Champions Trophy, they were seen maintaining the distance between each other. The duo had enjoyed a successful partnership on the pitch, with Team India having a 70.59 percent win percentage in Test cricket.
However, India had lost only one bilateral series against West Indies 1-0 (WI winning the first match and the second match washed out).
