Watch: Virat Kohli Mocks The Aussies For An Unsuccessful DRS Review
A lot of has been said about the Decision Review System (DRS) and its use during this exceptionally competitive ongoing series between India and Australia. Today, India started Day 3 one wicket down with two of their most consistent batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay at the crease.
Everyone knows Steven Smith’s brain fade and the DRS controversy. It is obvious that people will make fun of it when they fail with the review system. The incident with Smith is not yet forgotten completely and here is one more in day 3 of 3rd test match.
This time it was Australia’s turn to go wrong with the reviews. The battle is not just between the bat and ball but is about a lot more than that. The first one was used for Murali Vijay on day one while the second one was used against Cheteshwar Pujara which saw the Indian captain Virat Kohli get all pumped up.
A smirking Kohli emerged on day three of the third Test to clap and cheer an unsuccessful review by the visitors. The crucial moment came at the end of the 58th over on Saturday and left Australia with zero reviews remaining until the 81st over.
It was a tossed up delivery from Steven O’Keefe which Pujara played it on to his pad. But there were two noises and there seemed to have been a huge inside edge. Smith did not think about it much as he reviewed it instantly. The umpire checked it and was convinced that there was an inside edge.
Petulant and puerile from Virat Kohli after Australia got their DRS turned down that was probably actually right. #INDvAUS pic.twitter.com/RrwVasihiP

The review was discarded and Australia were left with no reviews. Kohli saw it from the dressing room and was so pumped up that he came out on the balcony and applauded. The snickometer suggested third umpire Nigel Llong might have actually made a mistake, not skipper Smith.
