Virat Kohli Slams Smith And Lyon’s Comment “Head Of Snake” During Press Conference

India showed why they are the number one side by producing a brilliant come-from-behind victory over Australia in the second Test match in Bengaluru. One of the crucial aspects that India got right was getting Steven Smith out early in both the innings.

On Day 4 of the second Test in Bengaluru Australia had to chase 188 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the four-match Test series. The Australians surely had an upper hand in the Test match but India showed admirable character and came up with the goods when it mattered most.

Australians were the better team for more than half of the second Test, but a fourth innings collapse on an unfriendly and unpredictable fourth-day pitch has seen them suffer a famous defeat in Bangalore.

Ashwin’s incredible six-for effort brought India back into the four-match Test series. Hosts beat Australia by 75 runs. Needing a win to keep their hopes of topping Australia in this series alive, India came back from the dead to stun their opponents.

“We are a unit that wins together and loses together” Virat Kohli addressed the media.

Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper revealed Australia’s key to success while taking DRS as he allegedly accused the Australian team of taking help from team management while taking DRS.

Kohli took up the matter in the press conference as he said: “Whatever decisions we make for DRS, we take it on the field. we don’t ask reference from the team staff from the top.”

“I saw the same thing twice when I was batting out there. I pointed it out to the umpire as well that it’s happened twice, and I have seen their players looking upstairs (to the dressing room) for confirmation. And that is why the umpire was acting when Smith turned back. The umpire knew exactly what was going on,” said Kohli.

“We had told the umpires and the match referee also, what they were doing, and it has been going on for three days. It has to stop because there is a line that you don’t cross on the cricket field. Sledging is different. But I don’t want to mention the (particular) word but it falls in that bracket. I would never do something like that on the cricket field,” he added.

A visiting Australian journalist asked if the `word’ was cheating. Kohli replied, “I didn’t say that. You did.”

Battle between Smith and Kohli fantastic:

There is plenty of talk when these two are out in the middle, but also quite a lot of mutual respect. Just the way the fielding captain celebrates the wicket of his counterpart is enough to know how much respect there is and while Smith is edging this contest in terms of runs, for sheer inspiration, Kohli takes the cake in this second Test.

On the other hand, Steve Smith says he had a brain fade on his dismissal, was looking at Australia dressing room to decide on DRS & “shouldn’t have done that.”

Australia 276 and 112 from 35.4 overs. (Smith 28, Ashwin 6/41)

India 189 and 274 (Pujara 92, Hazlewood 6/67)

India wins by 75 runs.

Surely, we might see ICC taking a look into the matter later or sooner as this a strong revelation from Kohli on Steve Smith.
