Ross Taylor Continues His Banter With Virender Sehwag, Viru Asks UIDAI If Ross Taylor Can Get ‘Aadhaar’ For His Hindi Speaking Skills
With the help of Colin Munro’s outstanding century and pacer Trent Boult’s lethal opening spell, the visiting team New Zealand defeated India by 40 runs in the 2nd T20I in Rajkot. With the win, the 3-match T20I series now stands even at 1-1.
Though Ross Taylor was included in the NZ squad for the ongoing T20 series, he is yet to be named in the playing 11 after first two matches. However, that didn’t prevent Taylor from continuing his banter with former Team India opener Virender Sehwag.
We all know the duo have been in humorous conversation (banter) in Hindi started during the 1st ODI between India and New Zealand, over Taylor’s name. Sehwag had started it all by focusing on Taylors’ name and its phonetic resemblance to tailor which translates to ‘darji’.
For sure, it is not easy to get back at Sehwag over his witty one-liners that have floored most sportspersons. And Taylor wasn’t one to give up so soon. His unexpected reply not only leveled terms between the two but he surely went a notch ahead.
Taylor took to Instagram and posted a picture of him sitting in front of a tailor shop with a caption that read, “@virendersehwag #Rajkot mein match k baad, #darji (Tailor) Ki dukaan band. Agli silai #Trivandrum mein hogi… Zaroor Aana. #India #IndvNZ.”
As a reply, Virender Sehwag has asked UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) if New Zealand’s Ross Taylor could get an Aadhaar card for his wonderful Hindi skills. “Highly impressed by you @RossLTaylor. @UIDAI, can he be eligible for an Aadhaar Card for such wonderful Hindi skills,” Sehwag tweeted.

Surprisingly, the UIDAI twitter handle was quick to reply, ”Language no bar. Resident status is what matters.”
