This Is How A Waiter Corrected Sachin Tendulkar To Overcome His Batting Flaw

Sachin Tendulkar is an inspiration to millions. The God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar even after playing cricket for almost 25 years is ready to take advice. But who can give an advice to the legend? Sachin Tendulkar revealed how a suggestion from a waiter of a Chennai hotel helped him improve his bat swing.

Sounds crazy right? Speaking at a promotional event, the “Little Master’ revealed how a suggestion from a waiter of a Chennai hotel helped him improve his bat swing. He followed the advice and it brought great results.

Waiter Corrected Sachin Bat Swing:

“If you have an open mind you can develop so many things. In Chennai, it was a waiter who came up to me and said if you don’t mind and doesn’t get offended I want to tell you something. I said go ahead. He said my elbow guard restricts my bat swing. And he was 100 percent right,” Tendulkar said at the event in Mumbai.

The Master Blaster followed his advice duly and changed the design of his elbow guard. “I knew I was feeling uncomfortable but I never thought of doing it myself. A few years down the line I got hit a couple of times on my elbow guard and it hurt. That’s when I realized that the padding on my elbow guard is inadequate,” he said. The advise prompted Tendulkar to work on the design of his elbow guard.

“I instantly redesigned my elbow guard. I needed to re-open it and work on it, get the fibre and cushion on either side to absorb the impact. In our country, everyone from panwala to CEOs will give you advice. But one should still be open about ideas.”

Of course, Tendulkar ended up scoring 34,357 runs across all formats, but it’s heartening to know he was ready to take advice from someone who many sportspersons would have brushed off.  Tendulkar is also the first and only batsman to score 100 international centuries.
