Do you remember the Natwest Tri-series 2002 final between India and England? It was one of the matches that Cricket Lovers especially Indian Cricket Lovers won’t forget. It has been 14 years this match was played. On 13th July 2002, India chased down 326 runs to win the Natwest tri-series final against England at Lord’s.
Team India reached the NatWest tri-series final against England under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly. With the help of Marcus Trescothick and Nasser Hussian’s centuries, England set a huge target of 326 to team India.
But the Indian top-order collapsed against the England bowling line-up. Though the big names failed to score in the match, two young names played a fantastic innings in the team’s victory. They are Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif. The duo stepped in when the top-order failed and scripted a dramatic two-wicket win.
