While Yuvraj Was Busy Getting Married, This Indian Batsman Broke His Record Of Hitting 6 Sixes In An Over

It has been 9 years since Yuvraj Singh smashed Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over during the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup. But from then, a lot has changed for Yuvi. He is now struggling to make his return to the Indian team. Apart from the cricket, the good thing is that Yuvraj Singh married Bollywood actress Hazel Keech recently.

While batting for Western Railways in their Times Shield ‘B’ Division match against RCF, the 23-year-old cut a sorry figure for off-spinner Tushar Kumare after smashing six sixes in his over. Sagar Mishra is a brilliant all-rounder and was promoted up the order in the match. He was promoted to bat at number 4 and had responded well to his team’s cause.

He had raced to his fifty in just 35 balls. It was after reaching his fifty, that he decided to strike the off-spinner Tushar Kumare. Sagar Mishra hit 6 sixes in one over to take his individual score to 91 but Mishra missed out on a well-deserved century and finished off with 91 off just 46 balls. A shocking factor was, in the last 11 balls that he faced, he hit 9 sixes.

Record Breaker:

“It’s a dream come true. I remember Yuvraj Singh’s six sixes in an over on TV nine years back. Never did I imagine that I’d do something similar. I was promoted to number 4 because their left arm spinner was bowling well and I was sent to up the scoring rate,” said Sagar Mishra.

Yuvraj Singh had achieved this feat against England bowler Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over in 2007. Whereas Ravi Shastri was the first Indian batsman to do so when he hit six sixes in a domestic match in 1985.
