Michigan Couple Shocked After Samsung’s “Space Selfie” Satellite Crashes Into Their Backyard
A couple from Michigan was shocked when they found space equipment crash-landed on their yard earlier.
Nancy Welke and Dan Welke were about to let their horses out when they heard a loud crash in their backyard.
The couple rushed to find out what happened, and upon further investigation, they found out that a space satellite crashed on their backyard.
The couple took their phone out and took a video of the incident, and it turned out that the tech that they found was the Space Selfie satellite of Samsung.
According to the couple, the satellite was still making sounds after it crashed.
The satellite had “Samsung Space Selfie” written on its side and also had a parachute attached to it.
According to reports, the space satellite crashed after a low altitude balloon that was attached to it got caught in power cables.
During the press release of Samsung (when they were launched the satellite), Samsung said, “The selfie is the first of many that Samsung will lift into the stratosphere this month as part of SpaceSelfie, a mission to give everyone the chance to get their face in space.”
The couple took a video of the incident and uploaded it on social media.
Samsung unveiled the satellite last week and said their satellite was the first-ever selfie device that was sent to space.
During the press conference, Samsung added, “The selfie is the first of many that Samsung will lift into the stratosphere this month as part of SpaceSelfie, a mission to give everyone the chance to get their face in space.”
It is still not clear if the device that crashed in Michigan was the one that was launched by Samsung during the inauguration.
Samsung representatives are going to pick up the equipment and bring it back to their headquarters.
