11-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Shot In The Head While Picking Up Phone Charger From Aunt’s House
An 11-year-old boy was fatally shot in the head in Washington DC, USA, as he picked up a phone charger that was in her aunt’s house.
Davon McNeal, the boy, was on his way to a community barbeque in south-east Washington DC.
The BBQ was being held for the 4th of July celebrations last night.
The man stopped at his aunt’s house to pick up a phone charger en route.
At around 9:20 pm on Saturday, Davon was shot in the head.
Emergency services raced to the city’s Cedar Street and took him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officers combed the area after the shooting, trying to search for the weapon that was used in the shooting or to find clues that may lead them to the shooter.
No arrests have been made at the time of writing this article.
Tony Lawson, the grandfather of Davon, spoke with local news media to talk about the death of the 11-year-old.
During the interview, Lawson talked about the love of Davon for Football and called an end to gun violence.
Trying to fight back the tears, Lawson said:
He was a good kid. I mean, his life gone. 11-years-old, he hadn’t lived his life yet, 11-years-old. We got to stop killing each other. Stop it. Put the guns down. Parents you know your son out. You know what your kids out here doing. If you know, stop ‘em. Stop ‘em before they hurt somebody else. Just stop it, stop it, please stop it.
Muriel Bowser, the Mayor of DC, said:
A mother lost her 11-year-old son to gunfire tonight. My thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family.
