22-Year-Old Chicago Man Arrested For Driving SUV Inside Mall And Crashing It Into The Walls
A 22-year-old man in Chicago was arrested by the authorities on September 20, 2019, for driving an SUV inside a mall in suburban Chicago and for crashing it into the walls.
Panic burst out amongst shoppers after the man drove his SUV inside the mall.
The police rushed to the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois, Chicago, after shoppers and mall employees informed them about a black SUV plowing through the mall’s entrance.
The car drove the mall’s common area and came to a stop when the car reached the center court.

Officials confirmed that there was only one person inside the SUV.
The 22-year-old man was detained by the people inside the shopping mall and was officially arrested by the police after they arrived in the mall.
Bill Wolf, the Schaumburg Police Chief, did not share the identity of the 22-year-old man.
Chief Wolf said, “There is no indication that this incident is related to any type of terrorist act.”

The Police Chief said that they originally got calls from the mall and were told about gunshots, but when they reached the scene, officials found out the noise was the sound of broken glass.
Videos and photographs of the scene were shared on Twitter by shoppers that were present in the mall when the 22-year-old man drove his SUV inside the mall and wove around kiosks, crashed into the walls of the mall, and decided to take a further stroll.
3 people were rushed to a hospital in Chicago, said the Chief.
