A 4-year-old girl’s body was found semi-naked in woodlands of Columbia after being raped by a man, who authorities have arrested.

The 4-year-old girl was reportedly beaten by the man and was raped.

Her body was discovered by her parents in Huila, which is located on the southwest coast of Columbia.

A 27-year-old man was found near the body of Salome Segura Vega, the 4-year-old girl that was raped.

He is the man accused of assaulting her.

Salome reportedly disappeared while she was playing with her friends on June 29, 2020.

Prosecutors allege that Sebastian Mieles Betin, the suspect, left her with brain trauma and multiple organ injuries when he sexually assaulted her.

Betin, who works for the parents of the 4-year-old victim, is currently facing sexual abuse and homicide charges.

Betin is denying all the charges.

The girl was found unconscious in woodlands by her parents and neighbors.

Betin was found just a few meters away from the semi-naked victim.

Furious locals tried to kill him in the aftermath of the attack.

Luis Enrique Dussan Lopez, the governor of Huila, called for a severe sentence to be handed out to the suspect.

Lopez said:

What happened with the girl in the municipality of Garzon cannot happen again.

Claudia Maya, the head of the Childhood and Adolescence in Huila, said that the government will be offering full support to the family of the victim.

Betin said that he has a daughter who is the same age as the victim.

He claims he has no connection with the death and rape of the 4-year-old girl.
