In a bizarre turn of events, a 7-month-old baby, diagnosed with a heart problem, was branded with a hot iron with the hopes of curing her disease.

Officials said that the incident happened in Banaskantha District of Gujarat.

The parents of the 7-month-old baby brought her to a quack last week who said that he could cure her by branding a hot iron on her.

The wound that was left by the hot iron become infected and the baby’s condition was deteriorating.

She was then brought to a local hospital, the infant was discharged on June 10, 2019.

The doctor who treated the infant said that she was brought to the hospital for the wound she had and due to her health.

This is the second case in Banaskantha this month.

Earlier this month, a baby underwent the same thing in Vaseda Village.
