Bihar Man Had To Carry His Son To A Hospital On His Shoulder Due To Shortage Of Ambulances

A father in Bihar had to take his 8-year-old son to a government-owned hospital on his shoulder after he was denied an ambulance by the hospital due to an unavailability of an ambulance.

The father said that he called the Sadar Hospital in Nalanda, Bihar on June 25, 2019. His 8-year-old son had a fever and abdominal pain.

Unfortunately, the child was declared as dead when he arrived at the hospital.

Yogendra Singh, the District Magistrate, said, “An inquiry will be conducted regarding this matter. If negligence is found then strict action will be taken.”

Magistrate Singh added that incidents like these have happened in the past, but still, they would launch an investigation.

Bihar is currently having an outbreak in Acute Encephalitis Syndrome in Muzzafarpur. More than 131 minors have passed away.
