Brave Father Swims Into Sinking Car To Save Woman Suffering Seizure Behind Wheels

A brave father was caught on cam swimming into a sinking car just to save a woman suffering a seizure while she was driving and crashed into a canal.

Shawn Turner and his son were driving near the Palm Beach in Florida when they spotted a white SUV slowly sinking into a Boca Raton Canal on February 23, 2020.

Without thinking twice, Shawn jumped into the canal to try and save the driver.

As Shawn was trying to save the woman in the car, his son brought out his camera and recorded the entire incident.

In the video that was shared on Shawn’s official Facebook account, the dad can be seen swimming towards the car.

You can also hear him shouting “She’s out cold!”

After realizing something was wrong, other good people jumped into the water to help out Shawn.

As other people were jumping into the water, Shawn climbed into the sinking car through the passenger side window.

Talking about his brave act, Shawn said, “As I was bringing my kids home, my son Timmy looked over and said, ‘Dad, there’s a car floating in the canal,’”

Shawn said he drove over a curb, jumped out of his vehicle, and went straight into the water after taking off his pants.

Shawn explained, “I didn’t have time to hesitate. I had time to take off my pants and go in.”

Shawn and the other 2 people in the water used a knife to cut the seatbelt in a bid to free the woman.

Shawn said it was all about getting the woman out of the water.

He explained, “It was a mission to get her out the driver’s side window and out the car. I know cars don’t float long so we needed to get her out of the car quick.”

The woman inside the car was later identified as Molly Pedrone.

Molly has suffered seizures for 13 years, but this one reportedly came out of the blue.

Thanks to the quick thinking and act of Shawn and the other people, Molly is now recovering in a hospital.

She is in a stable condition and is expected to recover.

Molly, the woman in the vehicle, thanked the people that helped her out.

She said, “I’m so thankful for Shawn’s help and the help of the other bystanders. I can’t fathom what it would’ve been like without them.”

Thanks to the quick thinking of Shawn and the other good Samaritans, Molly is alive.
