Defense Minister Wei Fenghe says China has no plans in replacing the United States as the “Boss Of World”

Wei Fenghe, the Defense Minister of China said that China has no plans in replacing the United States as the “Boss Of World” but is willing to “fight to the end” if it seems to be necessary.

Defense Minister Wei Fenghe was present at the Shangri-La Dialogue, which is a major regional security conference. He was also the highest-ranking official from China to attend the top defense summit in Asia in the last 8 years.

During the conference, Minister Wei Fenghe said, “China has no intention, no power, to be the boss of this world, and against the United States to fight for this status.”

He added, “Confrontation, including between China and the United States, is inconsistent with the interests of the two countries’ peoples and is not in the interest of the people of the world.”

Wei then talks about the possible scenarios.

He said, “If the U.S. wants to talk, we will keep the door open” Wei added, “If they want to fight, we will fight to the end.”

The defense minister also talked about the tension over the South China Sea and Taiwan, Minister Wei said China will “not let others prey on or divide us.”

China considers Taiwan as a renegade Province, the two were separated during the end of the 1949 civil war.

But, the United States only has diplomatic relationships with Beijing.

Minister Wei then asked, “How can the US enact a law to interfere in China’s internal affairs? Is there any sense in that?”

Wei also added that China is taking measures to make sure that prosperity and a better life for all is involved.

The Minister said, “China has never provoked a war or conflict, taken land or invaded another country.”

He added, “China has never preyed on others. We shall not let others prey on or divide us either.
