Dog Farmers Ate Dog Meat In Front Of Protesters During Animal Rights Protest In South Korea

During an animal rights protest, South Korean dog farmers decided to eat boiled dog meat as a counter-rally during the protests.

Kim Basinger, an actress, was also seen with the animal rights protests and was seen holding models of dogs that have been killed and boiled.

The protests happened during the “Dog Meat Day” of South Korean and it was held outside the National Assembly, which is the Legislative Body of South Korea.

South Korean Dog Farmers were seen wearing bandannas that wrote “Fight. Unity” in Korean.

As a taunt to the protesters, the dog farmers ate boiled dog meat outside the building.

Protesters, in which many of them where members of the “Last Chance for Animals” held up signs that said, “How many millions have to die before dog meat ends?”

Kim Basinger, an actress, was also seen protesting outside the Consulate of South Korea in Los Angeles, USA last year.

She called the National Assembly and said that they should “end this cruelty on this planet.”

The animal rights protests are being done right now to put more pressure on the lawmakers of the country to place a ban on consuming cat and dog meat in the country.

In South Korea, it is legal to eat dog meat, but it is illegal to kill dogs for their meat.

It is estimated that nearly 1 million dogs are eaten annually in the country, the consumption numbers were once at 2 million and are currently on the decline.

Protesters claim that there are around 17 thousand dog farms that are still operating in the country even after a ban has been placed.

In the South Korean Cuisine, boiled dog meat is considered as a delicacy, but youngsters in the country are considering taboo and are encouraging other people to stop the consumption of the poor animals.

Boiled Dog Meat is usually served in dog meat soup, which is called “Bosintang”.

Many residents of South Korea believe that the soup has the strength to overcome the heat.

The animal rights protesters held the protest on Friday last week.

According to a report that was released by Realmeter last year, around 44 percent of Koreans said that they want to ban the consumption and killing of dogs in their country and around 43 percent of Koreans said that they are against it.

The dog meat consumption issue is currently conflict-ridden in the country.
