Emotional Reunion: 2 Cousins Who Thought They Died In The Holocaust Reunited After 75 Years
2 cousins who thought the other had died during the Holocaust were reunited after 75 years, and thankfully, everything was recorded on cam.
85-year-old Simon Mairowitz and 87-year-old Morris Sana were forced to flee their families when the Nazis invaded Romania in 1940.
The last time Simon and Morris saw each other was 75-years-ago.
Simon and Morris thought the other had been killed in a concentration camp 75-years-ago when they flew out of Romania.
Thanks to people who were looking at Social Media, it came out that Sana and Simon were well and alive.
Sana, who lives in Israel, was visited by Simon, who lives in the United Kingdom, recently for a reunion that was really emotional.
In the video, it showed the cousins embracing each other emotionally.
Upon meeting Sana, Simon said, “Seventy-five years you waited. It’s a long time. But we’ve got each other now.”
Leetal Ofer, the granddaughter of Sana, shared the video on Facebook.
While posting the video, Leetal wrote, “This is one of the most moving things I’ve ever seen and I’d love to share it with you. My mom recently found some of her long lost cousins on Facebook. To make a long story short…”
She added, “My grandfather couldn’t find his cousin and best friend after the Holocaust and was sure that he was killed at the concentration camps. He hasn’t seen or heard from his cousin in 75 years. We were able to arrange for the cousins to meet today. The war tore so many families apart and to bring them together in Israel is so magical.”
No matter how long you stay separated, family love will always be present within our hearts.
Amazing story!
