Head-Teacher who stole thousands from his school and had drunken sex sessions inside his office has been banned from teaching
James Stewart, a head-teacher at the Sawtry Community College, has been banned from teaching after he was found guilty in stealing money from his school and having drunken sex session inside his office.
The head-teacher was sentenced to four years in prison 2 years ago after being found guilty in defrauding the Sawtry Community College, he stole £103,000.
74-year-old James Stewart worked as a head-teacher at the Sawtry Community College, located in Cambridgeshire, for around thirty years, he was earning £120,000 a year.
Reports suggest that he spend the money he earned on expensive food and skiing holidays.
When he was convicted for his fraudulent activities, the investigating officers also discovered an “inner sanctum” inside his office.
The officers recovered a large purple dildo, penis-shaped straws, a refrigerator full of champagne, and a clitoral stimulator.
The investigating officers also found a watermelon lubricant, a game of “kinky charades”, and a copy of the Kama Sutra.
74-year-old James Stewart was using the space for his affair with Christine Laxton, his personal assistant.
As mentioned earlier, James was convicted for his fraudulent acts in 2017, but recently, the Teaching Regulation Authority banned James Stewart from teaching again.
The Teaching Regulation Authority said, “These behaviors include fraud or serious dishonesty.”
The panel added, “The panel found that Mr. Stewart had been responsible for serious and systematic fraud over a prolonged period of time for which he was subsequently convicted and received a custodial sentence.”
Roger Woods, the chairman of the Teaching Regulation Authority said, Whilst Mr. Stewart previously had a good record, the panel found no evidence that the teacher’s actions were not deliberate, nor was he acting under duress. In fact, the panel found the teacher’s actions to be calculated, motivated and sustained for a number of years.”
James Stewart was not present in the hearing.
Members of the panel first raised questions about James when they saw him and Laxton, the PA of James Stewart, on the television, where they were seen attending Newmarket races, when James said that he was at a meeting.
The court was also told that the staff of the college also heard sexual nature sounds and rhythmic moaning and banging coming from the office of James.
Reports suggest that James Stewart also serenaded Laxton on his electric piano.
In 2017, a report made by the Cambridgeshire County Council also said that a member of the staff of the college tried to alarm the authorities about the happenings inside the office of James Stewart in 2011.
The report made by the council said, “Staff state that an attempt was made by a former colleague to blow the whistle to the Local Authority in 2011.”
It added, “This attempt was unsuccessful and allegedly the whistle-blower was told it was not possible to take the concerns further without the support of the entire leadership team or the Chair of Governors; this was felt to be impossible due to concerns about collusion.”
