Hero Nanny Jumps In Front Of Vehicle To Save Children From Speeding Vehicle
A nanny is currently being hailed as a hero for jumping in front of a speeding vehicle to protect the kids that she was looking after.
Marina Fuentes, the hero nanny, was caring for 2 children when a driver plowed down the sidewalk.
The incident happened in a Washington DC neighborhood.
The 3 had been walking down the sidewalk on September 15, 2020, when the care came barreling towards them.
The car that plowed towards the woman was being driven by a suspect who had stolen it, said the authorities.
The Metropolitan Police Department released a statement about the incident, where they said:
At approximately 4:55 pm, a delivery driver left his vehicle running unattended at the listed location. The suspect entered the vehicle and began to flee. As the suspect fled the scene, he lost control of the vehicle and struck the delivery driver, an adult female and two juveniles.
After noticing the speeding vehicle, Fuentes jumped in front of the children, who are 2 and 7 respectively, so she could protect them.
Her kind act left her injured, but the kids got away with minor injuries.
Despite in pain, the woman was still making sure that the kids that she was looking after for were well and uninjured.
Video footage that was shared with the public showed the suspect flying away from the scene.
Marina Fuentes, the kind woman, is currently recovering in a hospital.
She underwent a surgery for the injuries that she sustained in the incident.
The woman suffered multiple broken noses and need several surgeries, which will take her road to recovery for around 6 months.
