Income Tax Department: Congress Leader Kuldeep Bishnoi Has Assets Worth Rs. 200 Crores Abroad

Income Tax Department: Officials recovered foreign assets worth Rs. 200 crores that are owned by Haryana Congress Leader Kuldeep Bishnoi and his family members.

On July 23, the Income Tax Department conducted raids at 13 properties of Kuldeep Bishnoi in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and New Delhi.

A statement was released by the Income Tax Department, it said, “The group, controlled by persons who have a significant political presence in a neighboring state for decades and are occupying responsible political positions has been generating large amounts of undisclosed income over several decades.”

The statement added, “Evidence detected so far reveals undisclosed cash dealings of huge amounts in immovable property transactions, construction among others.”

The statement did not drop any names.

But sources in the tax department said that the case involves Bhajan Lal, the former Chief Minister of Haryana, and Kuldeep Bishnoi.

The statement added, “successfully lifted the mask and has detected undisclosed foreign assets worth over Rs. 200 crores, apart from domestic tax evasion of more than Rs. 30 crores.”

The Income Tax Department added that the foreign assets have been hidden for a number of years.

It is reported that the assets are in Panama, the United Kingdom, UAE, and the British Virgin Islands.
