ISRO Shares HD Earth Pictures Captured By Chandrayaan 2 Lunar Mission
ISRO just shared HD pictures of Planet Earth on their official page, the pictures were taken by the Chandrayaan 2, the lunar mission that is being handled by India. The pictures were taken by Chandrayaan 2 between 10:58 pm and 11:07 pm yesterday.
The Chandrayaan 2 was launched on July 22 and is expected to land on the moon and become the fourth country on Earth to achieve it.
Chairman K Sivan of the ISRO said, “The images are crystal clear and (the) spacecraft is perfectly normal. I am extremely happy with the mission so far. The images taken by the lander suggest it should be able to function as expected during the 15-terrifying moments when it goes in for the lunar landing.”
According to ISRO, the HD Images were taken from 5,000 kilometers away and was taken by the LI4 Camera that is installed in the lander.

The Chandrayaan 2’s lander will be making a soft landing on the moon on September 7 and is going to be watched live by PM Narendra Modi.
Chandrayaan 2 only cost Rs. 1000 crores and is the second moon mission that has been launched by the country.
The Chandrayaan 1 was an orbiter and was a joint mission by the US, the UK, and the European Space Agency. The first mission cost around Rs. 450 crores.
Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, said that he wants to send Indians into the orbit by 2022 through the Gaganyaan.
