Living In A Cave: Chinese Fugitive Who Was On The Run For 17 Years Arrested After Being Spotted By Drones

A Chinese fugitive, who was on the run for seventeen-years, was arrested by the police after he was spotted by drones living in a cave.

63-year-old Song Jiang was arrested by the police 17 years after he escaped a prison camp in 2002.

He was originally arrested in 2002 for trafficking women and children.

Song Jiang was arrested from a small cave in the mountains in Yunnan Province.

The Yongshan Police received an Intel about the whereabouts of Song earlier this year.

Upon investigating, the police started to use drones to scout the area with hopes of finding signs of Song.

The drones saw signs of human activity in a small cave in the mountains.

The Yongshan Police said, “As the lens slowly zoomed in, it was clear that there was a small cliff under the colour steel tile. There are traces of activity and domestic garbage outside the cave, which is very likely to be the hiding place of Song Jiang.”

After finding signs of human activity in the area, the police decided to raid the area on foot.

The investigating officers found Song living in a small area where he had reportedly been living for years.

According to the police, Song survived by collecting drinking water from a river by using plastic bottles and by cutting down tree branches to light a fire.

Photos of the cave show the harsh conditions of it.

The cave is so small that an adult couldn’t stand up in it.

According to the Yongshan Police, Song had been living in isolation for so long that he had a hard time communicating with other people.

Song Jiang was living in harsh conditions in which he didn’t take a bath and even wash his clothes in a long time.

It is said that his mind is currently “psychologically tortured”.

The fugitive has been sent back to prison and will serve his time.
