Man Jailed After Own Dashcam Filmed Him Selling Drugs
A drug dealer was sentenced to serve time in jail after he was caught selling drugs by his own dashboard camera.
45-year-old Scott Curtis was recorded selling drugs by his own dashcam and was seen selling drugs from his Yellow Ford Focus vehicle.
Earlier this month, the Merthyr Tydfil crown court was told that the police caught Scott throwing out small bags of heroin and cocaine from his car window when they pulled him over in September 2019.
During the house search, the police found Cannabis plants inside his home and came across the dashcam of his car.
The dashcam had 2 hours of raw footage that showed some of his latest drug deals in the local area.
In one part of the video, Scott answered the phone and could be heard saying “I don’t do Valium, gear I do” and says that he could do three for 25.
The entire drug deal was recorded by the dashcam that was installed in his car.
Scott Curtis from South Wales has been sentenced to serve 2 years and 6 months after pleading guilty in possessing cocaine and possessing heroin with the intent to produce and supply cannabis.
Steve Woolley, A DC from South Wales, said, “Scott tried his best to get away with his crimes. He threw drugs from his vehicle and then claimed that it was all for own personal use. But when we played back his own dashcam footage, I don’t think he could quite believe it himself.”
DC Woolley added, “Initially he replied no comment each time he was given the chance to explain what was going on, but so good was the case against him, he pleaded guilty to all charges and will spend a considerable time behind bars.”
