“Mom, It’s Me”: Woman Meets Son For The First Time After Placing Him For Adoption 45 Years Ago

A mother met his son for the first time in her entire life after she placed him for adoption 45 years ago.

Such a nice thing to witness.

Brenda Van Sickle, the woman, was 16 when she had to give up her son because of the situation she was in.

If she was able to care for her baby, she would, but she was not capable of providing the best care, so she gave him up for adoption.

Fast forward to today, the mother got a phone call and she was not expecting to hear something on that type of caliber.

She got a phone call and ended up meeting the man that benefited from that decision she made all those years prior.

Wes Fenner found his mother through DNA testing.

He lived a good life with a loving family and is currently working for a major bank in New Orleans, USA.

He also has a family of his own.

Wes talked with his mother, Brenda, on the phone for a couple of weeks and even flew to North Texas so she could meet her.

The 2 met alongside a pond, where he told his mother “mom, it’s me”.

Talking about the incident, Wes said that he does not cry that much, but it was just a moment that he had to shed some tears.

He added:

I’m not a huge crier, but it was definitely one of those moments. It was kind of like looking at myself, a slightly older version of myself, in the mirror.

Brenda also talked about meeting her son.

She said:

You know you wonder about nature versus nurture. We send each other song lyrics back and forth and he listens to the same music I do. We like the same movies. We have the same snarky sense of humor. I’m going, ‘Yeah, this is my kid.’

Such an amazing thing to witness in times like these!
