The police have arrested the mother of the 2-year-old kid that was seen smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer in a video that went viral on Facebook.

25-year-old Gina Terco and 30-year-old Michael Ramores were arrested by the police in two different search operations, said Police BGen. Joselito Esquivel Jr, the chief of the QCPD.

The mother of the 2-year-old kid is from Barangay Sta. Monica, Novaliches, and her boyfriend, Ramores, is from Marikina city.

ABS-CBN, a news agency in the Philippines, said that the father of the 2-year-old child reported the incident to the QCPD after he saw the viral video of his wife forcing their child to smoke a cigarette and drink beer.

The cruel act of the mother allegedly happened in a motel in Cubao, Quezon City.

The father of the child said that he saw the video of the incident o the smartphone of his wife.

The father is set to file a case against 25-year-old Gina Terco and 30-year-old Michael Ramores.

The incident happened on May 18, but it was discovered by the father of the kid this month.

Col. Rossel Cejas of the Novaliches Police Station launched a rescue operation for the child.

They arrested 25-year-old Gina Terco at her house in Barangay Sta. Monica.

A follow-up search operation was launched by the Cubao Police Station and arrested 30-year-old Michael Ramores.

25-year-old Gina Terco and 30-year-old Michael Ramores are currently under the custody of the police, the two violated the of the Republic Act 7610, which is also known as the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

The 2-year-old child will be handed to the QC Social Services and Development Department.

NCRPO Director P/Maj. General Guillermo Eleazar said that it is clear that the child has been forced to drink beer and smoke a cigarette before.

During an interview with ABS-CBN, General Eleazar said that the way the 2-year-old drank the beer and smoked the cigarette, it was a clear indication that the child has done this before.
