A mother in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, strangled her 4-year-old daughter to death inside their home on July 13, 2019, the news was confirmed by the Gorakhpur Police.

Officials said that the mother killed her daughter inside their house at Mahadeva Jungle Village in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the mother decided to strangle her daughter to death after she got annoyed with an argument that involved her, her husband, and her in-laws.

Jitendra Nishad, the husband of the woman, said that their neighbors informed him that his wife was beating his daughter.

When Jitendra reached the premises of his home, he found his daughter dead.

Jitendra Nishad works as a lineman in the power department of Gorakhpur.

Preliminary investigations also revealed that the wife of Jitendra used to fight with him every time she got to know that he was giving money to his mother.

Officer Sunil Gupta said that further investigation will be conducted to gather more information about why the mother decided to take the unusual step.

The dead body of the 4-year-old girl has been sent for an autopsy.

The mother is currently facing charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Jitendra and his wife have two kids, his 7-year-old son was with his grandmother when the incident happened.

The couple was married for 7 years.
