One Of Us Polluted The Air: Fart Stops Heated Debate In Regional Assembly In Kenya

A debate at a regional assembly in Kenya was suspended for some time after someone in the room “polluted the air”.

Amidst the heated debate about market stalls, someone in the room released a foul smell.

Julius Gaya told the Homa Bay County Assembly, “Honourable Speaker, one of us has polluted the air and I know who it is.”

Some of the men who were in the assembly started to point out fingers towards Gaya.

But he said he is not the one.

Gaya added, “I cannot do such a thing in front of my colleagues.”

With the hopes of clearing the air, Edwin Kakach, the speaker of the assembly, asked the members to step outside the room until the foul smell goes away.

The speaker said, “We cannot continue sitting in an environment that smells bad.”

BBC says the speaker asked officials to bring air fresheners from his office so the smell could become “pleasant”.

After the smell went away, the heated debate was continued again.
