Police Officer Caught Planting Drugs On Handcuffed Black Man During Arrest

The Louisiana Police Department are now investigation a video, where a police officer can be seen planting drugs on a black man that was being arrested.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said that authorities were responding to a call about a man in a red t-shirt and tie-dye pants who was reportedly selling drugs in the neighborhood.

The incident happened in Bridge City, Louisiana.

The police said that they approached a man that fit the entire description, but the man is said to have resisted their attempts to investigate the situation and was handcuffed.

The video, which was taken by a local, shows a group of police officers that apprehended the man as he was protesting his innocence.

In the video that was shared with the public, the man can be heard shouting, “There ain’t no crack in the bag. Are you serious?”

The video then shows a police officer dropping a small bag of white powder on the ground.

As the police officer did that, onlookers shut that they were recording the entire arrest.

As the officer head the onlookers, they were seen rushing towards the person.

While sharing the video on Twitter, the user said, “This is what’s going on in our neighbourhood! Jefferson Police putting drugs on people.”

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office released a statement about the bizarre incident.

The statement said:

“The video in question is part of the evidence that has been collected in this case. It has been alleged by third parties that evidence on the scene was planted by one of our deputies. Our on-scene deputies have been interviewed in this matter and gave reasonable explanations to the actions depicted in the video. We will further investigate this matter with anyone that has any direct knowledge of the incident. Our investigation will be accurate and thorough, and if it is determined that our deputies acted improperly, JPSO will act accordingly.”

The Sheriff’s Office went on to say that the bag containing the white substance was collected as evidence, but tested out negative for narcotics.

Officers also claim that the man bit a police officer when they were trying to arrest him.

The police officer reportedly went to the hospital for treatment.

The man in the video, whose identity was not shared with the public, was not boked with any drug-related charges.

However, he will be facing charges for battery of an officer for injury and resisting arrest with force or violence.
