Qatar, which is considered by many as one of the hottest countries on our planet, is installing outdoor air conditioning systems to keep themselves cool amidst the hot temps.

Temperatures in Qatar have reached nearly 46 degrees Celsius, and people are having a hard time coping up with the head.

The 2020 World Cup has also been moved to winter, so players can avoid the heat.

In 2018, Qatar started to install air-conditioners in their football stadiums to keep their players and fans safe.

A year after, the country announced that they are installing outdoor air conditioning systems at shopping malls and pavements to make sure people who are commuting or traveling are cool.

In Doha, Qatar, the Public Works Authority went to pain the Abdullah Bin Jassim Street with the color blue, to reduce the temperature of the asphalt.

Blue roads help a lot in lowering the temperature. This is because dark-colored roads absorb more heat than colors that are light.

Saad Al-Dosari, an Engineer, said, “The temperatures of dark asphalt is 20 degrees Celsius higher than the actual temperature because black attracts and radiates heat.”

Qatar is one of the fastest-warming areas of the world, said Zeke Hausfather, a climate data scientist with Berkeley Earth.

He added, “Changes there can help give us a sense of what the rest of the world can expect if we do not take action to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.”

Many experts say adding air conditioning is just a temporary fix for those living in Qatar.

Some experts believe that cities in some parts of Qatar are going to become inhabitable in the upcoming years.

Experts say an increase of 4 to 6 degrees can be seen in an area that already has high temperatures.
