Per week, the Sai Baba Temple in Shirdi receives Rs. 14 Lakhs and the trust members of the temple said they do not know what to do with the money as banks are not accepting the coins.

The Sai Baba temple in Shirdi, Maharashtra is considered as one of the richest temples in India, and it is known to receive frequent donations.

The temple is dedicated to Sai Baba, a spiritual leader.

Devotee from all around the world and India come to Maharashtra to visit the Sai Baba temple, and most of them drop coins inside the donation boxes at the temple.

During an Interview with NDTV, the CEO of the Shri Saibaba Sansthani Trust, Deepak Muglikar said, “We count our donations twice a week and we receive around 2 crore each time. Around 7 lakh each time is in the form of coins and banks have refused to accept this entire amount.”

Deepak Muglikar also offered banks in the state to provide space for the coins so they could store the coins.

The trust of the temple has 8 bank accounts.

Deepak Muglikar said that all 8 of the banks have refused to accept their coins as deposits as they did not have sufficient space for the coins.

The Shri Saibaba Sansthani Trust will be filing an appeal to the Reserve Bank of India so they could provide a solution to the problem.
