A video that is viral on the internet right now shows thieves being tackled to the ground as employees stopped them from running away with a trolley full of goods.

The incident reportedly happened in the car parking of the Food Warehouse in Leigh, Greater Manchester.

The thieves could be seen throwing food objects to a car before one of the staff came and stopped them.

Another staff came and grabbed one suspect on the ground.

The man tried to get back to his feet but was knocked down again.

One member of the staff took out his phone and took a picture of the license plate of the vehicle before it got away.

The store owner confirmed that the incident happened.

A spokesperson of the Food Warehouse said, “it is extremely frustrating that some individuals regard this as an opportunity to steal… at a time when our stores and colleagues are under unprecedented pressure’ as Britons panic-buy amid coronavirus hysteria.”

The spokesperson said that the matter has been reported to the local police.
